About the FORTRESS Study

Over 5 million Americans are affected by fibromyalgia - a condition that causes widespread pain, aching and tenderness in all parts of the body. Fibromyalgia is often accompanied by a cluster of other symptoms, such as fatigue, sleep problems, stiffness, abdominal pain and headaches.

Right now, doctors at select centers in the US are accepting participants for the FORTRESS Clinical Study. The study is for an investigational oral medication that may help improve fibromyalgia symptoms. The investigational medication is somewhat different in that it is a combination of two medications that already have FDA approval for treatment of other conditions, but not for fibromyalgia.

If you qualify and choose to join the FORTRESS Study, you will receive all study-related care at no cost, and will also be compensated for your time and travel to attend study visits.

Why Participate?

If fibromyalgia symptoms are affecting your life, you may qualify for the FORTRESS Clinical Study. The study is exploring the effect of an investigational medication on fibromyalgia symptoms when taken daily for 16 weeks. If you qualify and choose to join the study, you will receive:

  • Evaluations of your fibromyalgia condition from a local physician.
  • Study-related care and study medication at no cost. Health insurance is not required.
  • Compensation to attend periodic visits at your study doctor’s office (up to 6 visits over an approximate 5-month period)
  • The opportunity to help advance fibromyalgia research, which may benefit other fibromyalgia sufferers in the future.
